EXERCISE THAT BRAIN! And 1 and 2 and 3 and 4….
Brain Exercises May Delay Dementia
If you cannot read, write, search the internet, or play cards then this blog entry is not for you. As a matter of fact, no blog entry is for you. Poor baby! For those who can…whoo hoo! Apparently you have been on the work-out plan for your brain. Follow this link to read an article from LiveScience about how activities such as reading and searching the internet assists in delaying cognitive decline.
The article directly references Dementia, which, according to Wikipedia, is the result of a unique global brain injury or progressive, resulting in long-term decline in cognitive function due to damage or disease in the body beyond what might be expected from normal aging. Dementia generally occurs later in life and is caused by specific diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, as well as stroke and infections to the brain.
So, I know you’re thinking. I’m way too young to be worrying about that. Well, if you have the tools to be preventative, why not be proactive and kick that Dementia to the curb before it can start to get there. A sort of birth control for the brain. 😎
Now get to the library and check out a book! Or keep researching how many Frappachinos Britney Spears had today. Either one works.
