I used to love, love, loooooove Pee Wee’s Playhouse, Pee Wee’s Big Adventure and even Big Top Pee Wee as a kid. It’s a little weird now knowing that the character was originally created as comedic fodder for adults. Oh well! Those “adult” jokes went right over my head.

Pee Wee came with all kinds of goodies…a great cast (HELLO! Laurence Fishburne as Cowboy Curtis, Phil Hartman as Captain Carl, Natasha Lyonne as Opal, etc), that crazy laugh, his gray suit, red bow-tie and his neato (that’s right, I said neato) inventions. I really wanted that toaster. Also really wanted to visit the giant dinosaur. However, he did make me a little scared of egg salad sandwiches. If you don’t know what I am talking about, then I think you needs to go partake in a little double feature/marathon that is Pee Wee amazingness!

I am so excited! Come to think of it, I actually think I am just a Paul Reubens fan. I definitely enjoyed him in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He really kept the pace with Luke Perry and died oh so beautifully. I also liked him in 30 Rock. They must have done this whole revival with me in mind. Note to producers…bring in Morpheus. You will have The Matrix crowd panting at your feet for tickets…or not. One thing is for sure, Morpheus must have his Cowboy Curtis jheri curl in effect. This is priority #1.

Now, I am hoping that this stage show is not anywhere near a XXX movie theater. If so, we just need to make sure Paul Reubens does not have access (if you don’t remember this incident, see the link after the smile). I am still not completely sure he needed to be arrested. Seems like the cops just needed to make their quota and thought, where can I catch people doing something they shouldn’t be doing in public. Oh, I know, a XXX movie theater! If that cop is reading this, I would like you to know that you shattered many a child’s illusions that day. Boo!!!
